From 1837-1898, only C of E, jews, quakers, and the registrar were authorized to keep official marr registers. If a non-conformist marr took place, the registrar had to attend to record the details in his register, and in actual fact to complete the marriage ceremony by having the couple sign his register. After 1898, non-conformists were authorized to keep official registers (this excluded RCs until 1980-ish). Of course, pre-1898, non-conformists could keep whatever private records they fancied.

Have you got his admistration of estate papers?

Joseph Pedley Ablett
Probate Date: 2 Mar 1908
Death Date: 16 Feb 1908
Death Place: Surrey, England
Registry: London
of 39 Eckstein Rd, Clapham Junction

To Sydney Robert Ablet, Commercial Clerk. £30 0s 1d

It is possible that further details of relationships might be listed. But then again, it might not. If he is a direct or close ancestor, it might be worth purchasing it for £6

edit - you were given this on one of your other threads. Some people have said that Administration records have to state who might be entitled to a share and why. Administration means that no Will was left, and is granted so that the estate can be disposed of. If a Will had been left, Probate would have been granted
