I HAVE FOUND A NEWSPAPER ARTICLEFOR AUG. 7TH 1909
JOSIAH BANNER OF THE FIRM BANNER AND TOLLEY BAKERS WAS KILLED ON THE RAILWAY. THE DECEASED HAD BEEN KNOCKED DOWN BY AN AFTERNOON TRAIN AND SUSTAINED A SERIOUS FRACTURE OF THE SKULL, HE DIED FROM HIS INJURIES.
I WONDER IF THIS WAS THE REASON FOR BANKRUPTCY PROCEEDINGS?
THANKS TO EVERYONE. :-D

I think if I were you I would send an email to the Worcestershire Library and History Centre - you can find the details here: http://www.worcestershire.gov.uk/cms/records/worcestershire-history-centre.aspx

Thanks Joy,
As you can see on that site Ive had no response from there either.
I will try and see if our local newspaper can help.
I just wondered if any records for the buisness were held where they might be? Would they be held at eh local records office or at the library?
I'm not sure what records are held at these places.

You could try writing to the local newspaper perhaps?

Hi People.
Could someone please give me information about where the best place to look concerning old buisness.
My great grandfather Walter Tolley is listed on the 1911 census as a baker. My gt aunt , his daughter told me she can remember his bakery in Stoke Prior, Bromsgrove . He was in partnership with someone called Banner, who killed himself on the railway line nearby.
Any guidance on where I should look would be a great help.
Thanks very much
Belinda.
