I am searching without luck for an ancestor and have even posted on the find ancestors .At moment I am trying a different track and am looking at a Ben Cention aged 1 who in 1841 is living with James Jones and family in Gloucestershire,However I can find no trace of this child anywhere else either in further census' or birth records so was wondering if name could have been misheard by enumerator any ideas gratefully received :-) |

I am not sure if it IS Ben Cention. The B is nothing like the B of Bellamy on the opposite page and cention does not begin with a capital letter, as do all the other surnames. Also, the age is in the female column. |

Looking at the original of that 41 census I think it says Vencention. |

Thankyou all very much for your replies. It was my daughter who had posted on the forest website as we have both been doing the family tree. I had come to the conclusion that Ben Cention was indeed Vencension or however her name was spelt but have then lost trace of her. Very difficult to trace this side of my family. Jones was the grandmother on my father's side but thankyou all for your help |
