Should I be worried here. I decided to find my ggg grandparents So I started with trying to find my gg grandmother Mary Ann on the 1881 census the first one on which she appears which I managed however I noticed on that census a boy five years older than Mary Ann given as step son so her mother Caroline had been married before. |

I would check the deaths of the husbands also just in case you have found someone with the same name on the census (but different person if you follow me). |

Well asssuming that you are correct and they are all your lady, it might be that practical needs surpassed and in those days women relied on a man to survive. Of course she could just have got bored easily.... It would be great to see the entries on her marriage certs. Divorce wasn't the done thing then so I don't suppose you have managed to find possible deaths for these guys have you? I would love to get hold of their death certs to see causes of death. Maybe you have a previously unknown Black Widow. Please, if you find out the answer, can you let us know. It sounds fascinating. J |

I have deaths for both first and second husbands. The first died in 1870 aged 30 and the second in 1874 aged 39. Cannot find her birth though will start a new thread on finding ancestors board asking for help with that. |
