To be called to the bar, one had to pass the bar exams and attend a certain # of dinners. In your guys case, these were be held at the Middle Temple in London. It wasn't then necessary to have a law degree. I think this is still the case, although having a law degree got exemptions from passing certain bits of the bar exams. |

I can only find reference to Henry in Peerage.com and briefly in County Families of the United Kingdon, or royal Manual of Title and Untitled Aristocracy of GB |

My above ancestory was 'called to the Bar, Middle Temple' in 1849. He was related to Sir Stafford Henry Northcote who was also 'called to the Bar, Inner Temple' in 1847. |
