I bet your sister-in-law is happy,though!!!! ;-)

OH proposed the toast to the bride and groom at his brother's (second) marriage.
Slight error on his part-you guessed it-he wished his brother and "insert the ex-wife's name here" a long and joyous etc.

Such a good thing that you were listening properly Jonesey! Just think of the legal ramifications - your wife could have been married to you, but you to her sister. ;-)

I too was obliged to answer "No" when first asked the question by the minister who was marrying us.

The reason being that the minister knew my wife to be's family very well including her 2 sisters. He obviously suffered a senior moment because instead of asking if I would take my intended (Janet) as my wife, he used her sister Betty's name. When I said "No", he stopped, stared and then realised what he had done. We all laughed and he then asked the question again, this time using the correct name. At the second time of asking I replied "Yes"

Almost 44 years later I don't regret that but I'm not too sure my wife would agree. ;-)

Don't put off until tomorrow doing what you can do today. If you like doing it today you can do it again tomorrow. Be kind to your children for it is they who will decide which care home you end up in.

Just in case there any Lincolnshire searchers out there this is an excellent site as you can see the images, you have to search much as you would at an archive but if you have a fair idea of place and dates it is not too onerous. For instance if I put 'Harlaxton marriages' into the search box I get over 120 images. You can zoom in and see the writing very clearly and some records go back to the 1600's
