Halifax NS... Canada or Britian????

Pier 21 didn't come into existence until 1928. Mary was born in Halifax in 1835.

Pier 21 in Halifax Nova Scotia was the immigration point and is now a very good museum. The library assistants there are very helpful. The website address is www.pier21.ca or you can simply google Pier 21 and select the appropriate link.

Mary Jane is my gr-gr-grandmother
Fanny (Frances) is a sister who has just simply disappeared...but an aged gr-aunt has said one of the family became a Nun... and I know it wasn't Mary Jane
Mary Jane had also disappeared until I back tracked from New Zealand and found ancestors of her brothers doing their branches of the tree.

Incoming passenger lists are on Ancestry but don't start until 1878.

Thanx guys... my ancestors were from Seven Oaks, Kent, England but their first child (according to the census was born in Halifax NS... the next child two years later was born in Seven Oaks, Kent. I guess I was hoping the birth was in England. Can anyone advise me on the best way to approach finding her birth record in Nova Scotia?

I don't fully understand the question.

However, there is a Halifax in Yorkshire, England, and there is Halifax Nova Scotia in Canada. There is no NS associated with the one in England.
