My maternal grt grandad Samuel Ager died in 1910 from injuries caused in the London Docks. He lived in CanningTown (West Ham reg district) and i have his death cert with the coroner as the informant. |

Try going to the Woolwich heritage centre, they have quite a collection of newspapers on fiche. They are really friendly and I am sure if you called them they may be able to help you if you can't get there yourself. |

I believe that during the early 1900's to 1920's West Ham Registry Office also covered Walthamstow. |

Shirley you will need the library in Stratford. Also there was a group that all was involved in old West Ham.I did join the group a few years ago.I dont know if its still up and running.I was born West Ham and all my family came from the Dock area. When i was still in Newham back in 1970,s the newspapers then was The Newham Recorder and Stratford Express.Stratford express was the oldest paper |

Thanks for the info Perchino, unfortunately I have no idea which dock he worked at. The cause of death says died of injuries caused when a 9 tonne crane fell on him in the London Docks. |

Another thought-was this event after the Trade Union was formed? If so, the Union may have records |
