Fathers consent to underage marriage

Does anyone know if records of consent for underage marriages exist . I am trying to find the name of the father of a girl of 16 married in 1827, the parish record for this does not name him. |

This has been asked before but I don't think anyone was able to come up with a definitive answer. One suggestion was that the parent may have sometimes signed the register as one of the witnesses, another, that permission had simply been given verbally. |
