It is possible that they are twins, however if the records were as well kept as in more modern times, then you would only need to order one of the certificates. |

In the case of twins, or other multiple births, the birth certificate will show the time of birth. This is done for inheritance and other legal purposes. |

I would suggest also that you look at the death records as it looks like Jessie died. |

Very possible but you would need the certs to prove it. Jessie died Mar q 1899. Stanley can be seen on the 1901 census. |
