can anyone help me . i believed my mum and dad got married just after the war but have only found a wedding for 1978, problem being my dads name victor w. g..rennolds. mum majorie evans, there seems to be 3 weddings for the same time,all on same page in registry book;
v.rennolds married m.rennolds
m.rennolds married v.rennolds
v.rennolds married m.evans

Your Mother had been living with your Father for a long time before the wedding, so was known as Marjorie Rennolds, so you have the Rennolds/Rennolds entry and the Rennolds/Evans entry as she really was Evans. These two entries refer to who your Father was marrying.
The other entry is your Mother marrying your Father.

There is also an entry if you search for M Evans to Rennolds.

Looks like he was married before:

Marriages Dec 1938
May Doris I Rennolds Bristol 6a 486
Rennolds Victor W G May Bristol 6a 486

Might explain why he didn't marry your mum until 1978.

And Marjorie was also married before and had a child.

These are not 3 marrs, but 3 entries in the index under Rennolds (there is a 4th under Evans). Since Victor married Marjorie Rennold or Evans, this is exactly what one would expect.
