Why the 1911 census was so vague and inaccurate beats me - any benefits scams then! (LOL) BUT, nothing is surprising in this hobby.

I think this is Benjamin in 1901. Father is a confectioner. The writing is horrible hence the mistranscriptions.

Original says he's a carman, address 25 Jane St., her address 4 Jane St., his father a confectioner, hers a news vendor. Witnesses Henry Ward & Harriet Fisher.

Unfortunately they're not the same age.

I wonder if I could call on the expertise of those with more experience than me to confirm a marriage.
1911 census shows a Benjamin Dalley b 1879 Lambeth at 16 Pine St, Clerkenwell. Sadly it lists his wife as 'Mrs Dalley' same age b Brighton.
I've tried the GR marriage records and it gives two possible 'Mrs Dalley's', one being Amy Fisher, the other Elizabeth Emma Violett. The marriage records are listed as Aprl qtr 1901 Southwark ref Vol 1D - 85.
I've tried backtracking on the two ladies in previous census returns but neither turns up as born Brighton?
