Thank you for looking I feel that I may have come to a brick wall on this.

Following on for this is there any way of accessing marriage records on line to give name of father so know if I have the right marriage, as have a number of possibles and marriage certs are expensive have already ordered 2 and both wrong. any help extremely grateful. Have managed to find marriage for Len and William Herbert my Grandfather and know that Stanley never married, but rest struggling with. any help appreciated.

The only way i could find all my great grandmothers siblings ( Smiths ) and who they married was to spend hours looking at the records office.

A more obscure way and not as accurate would be to see if the address where your grandfather lived at the time of his marriage was the family home.

With that information the siblings over 21 could be on the electoral rolls. Whilst that in itself is not the answer, what it might do is pinpoint the time frame when they left home and then look for the nearest marriage to that date.It might help eliminate some duplicate names.-jl
