I have had a search for your Nicholls family,and have found a lot about her parents siblings and grandparents..She was a product of Lydia..the second wife of Peter, her father..........but the trail runs cold at Mary...... |

Also worth checking the 1851, maybe even 1861 censuses. You could try searching on just first name and place of birth (and year of birth) - that might give you a few clues. |

Both options should be considered. You could try the old style familysearch's IGI as well as the new version. |
