Notation on CR 10, merchant seamans identity cert

I have my grandfather's CR10. Wriiten in the blank lined portion is
'Pr Sydney 9:8:19.
I think it must be a date, but cannot work out what it relates to. he was sunk in 1917 off NZ, and returned back to England to continue to sail. But this is not a ships reference number. Does anyone have any idea what it might be ?

On his CR 5 (1931) I am puzzled by the date in brackets as the other dates hand written on it relate to voyages between 1922-23.

Hi Jeanette,
I had a look at my grandfather's CR10 and I don't see a space that's not allocated for something to be filled in on the front, on the back there is a photo in the middle and ship numbers and dates down the left hand side. Where did you mean?
I only have CR1, CR2 and CR10 but at the top of both the CR1 and CR2 there is a stamp:
N.R.5.(1931)
I know that his last ship was in 1925, so this stamp must have been added later - unless 1931 is not a date!

Thanks for your reply, The notation Pr Sydney is written on the page where his photo is. It is on the very top line. His ships number are not on that page though. Good to know that the 1931 is on other certs too, but if the 1931 is not a date I wonder what tit could be. Isn't it always the way, the more you uncover, the more questions are raised.
Very curios
I asked at National Archives at Kew, where I found the certificates, but found the folks there not very helpful, felt like I was imposing on their time.
