Jersey Birth Certificates

Can anyone tell me how I can get hold of a birth certificate for a relative born in Jersey @1853?

If you really want/need the certificate it will cost you £20, probably plus a search fee if you don't know the parish.

They are obtained from the Superintendent Registrars office in the Royal Square, St Helier

If you just want the details from it give me the name and I can go and look at it for nothing and send you the information.

I'm going to be at the Archive tomorrow (Tues) morning

That's very kind of you. I'm interested in Emily Way who was born @1853. Her parents were Thomas and Sarah Way.

I have done work on the Way family before although there were quite a lot of them over here and may not be related to yours.

It could very well be her. My Emily had Mary as her middle name and the parent names are the same.

Her father was a coachman in a later census so I would think it's pretty liely that this is the right family.

I will have a look at that website.
