Hello again Roy.
Tried rootsireland and there was only one with that surname, i.e Julia born Co. Wicklow in 1847. I'd be surprised if there wasn't some link there as it is such an unusual surname - will pursue.
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

Thank you for the reply and advice Roy. My delay in reply has been because I took your advice and googled. I agree. On surnamedb, it says that the surname is of Anglo Norman French origin. He was definitely born in Ireland in the 1800's so I guess I need to do a whole country search.
Will try roots.

Could anyone advise please. Is Rozzell (and its variant spellings) a surname more likely to originate from the north or south of Ireland? Knowing would help me narrow down my search.
