Hi, I sent off for a will to York Probate Sub Registry early in July and I am sure the money was debited out of my account on 20th. Does anyone know how long these wills actually take to arrive. I cant find a phone number or email address (had to post form with a cheque) to ask them.

Any info appreciated, thanks

I sent to the address in Cardiff from where it took one week.

Thanks Joy, will phone them tomorrow. It says York Probate is no longer being dealt with at Castle Chambers which is where I sent the cheque. (I got address from Manchester when I recently went to record office there). Dont know what has happened.

Hi I live in York and we have just had a new telephone directory delivered this week. I have just looked up the address for the York Probate Sub- Registry, it is Castle Chambers, 1st Floor Clifford Street. York. sorry no postcode.
The telephone number which says it is for probate enquiries only is 01904 666777, but you could try and see is there is any one helpful on this number.

I forgot to say that previously I had applied to York for a will and it seemed to be taking a long time, so found the Leeds number and rang it; it was a while ago now but,I think, I was told that the usual turn around time is 21 working days.

I ordered a Will from York at the beginning of July also. They told me today (Leeds office) that it would arrive this week or next.

Thanks everyone, didnt get chance to phone them today, will do tomorrow but I will probably get told the same as Natalie. Seems forever ago since I sent off for it.

Do you know for certain that a proved Will actually exists?
