When my Irish Gran was Baptised in Dublin City 1894, one of the sponsors was Agnes F Brady. |

it's a difficult one! I have my gt gt aunt's baptism in Kerry ....one of her sponsors is named as Daniel , her brother's name...but it can't be him because he was only 2 at the time...so it must be an unknown uncle or cousin... |

Can only refer to 20th century. My husband came from a very large RC Irish family and I know that one of his sisters was a godmother to the youngest male child who was about 18 years her junior. |

Hi, nowadays once a child has made their Conformation (R.C. Religion)usually aged 12-13 years, they can be sponsors for (Godparent) any childs Baptism here in Ireland. |

On checking Agnes Brady's baptism record....she was Baptised as Agnes, no second name....in Rathmines, co Dublin |
