Thank you both for your replies, I think you are right Margee....I have never heard of Margaret shortened to Mary either but thought I would ask just in case. |

I have a couple of women who were "Mary Ann" on BMD certs in my tree that are down as "Margaret" in census records (especially on Scottish census) |
