I have ancestors that moved to america but am hitting a brick wall when I try and find anyone else who has them in their tree.

It's Alexander Pollitt (1833 to 1892) born Kentucky but moved to Shelby Indiana, Married Ann Evans (1848 to 1931 born Dudley West Mids -moved to USA 1848 and married Alexander Pollitt 1881.

Although 99.9% of the main schedule of the 1890 census was destroyed, this wasn't true of the 1890 civil war veterans schedule.
However most of AL thru KS was destroyed here, and there's no surviving bits for IN.
