Woke up in a panic today, you know how obsessive this thing becomes, you run to your relatives shouting " Hurrah! I found our great great great great X16 grandad!" then a chilling thought hits you....what if you are wrong about the name of your great great great grandad? I realise now I have been foolish. I got his marriage certificate before I even got his sons...I didn't think I needed it because someone here kindly posted up the Ancestry.Com entry for his son's marriage, my great great grandad William Henry. It gave the names of William's parents.... |

The marriage cert will show the fathers name only not the mum .I would say the researcher has gone back from the marriage on census to see the mums christian name and then found the marriage for them. |

Ok Shirley thank you. Can't believe I was so lax. Well, that's not true. |
