My gt grandfather was in the Staffordshire regiment but he has an army medical in Newport Monmouthshire on 4th Oct 1886 before he joined at Lichfield on Oct 7th 1886? Why would it be in Newport? I would like to find out reason why as i am having trouble tracing info on him. Any ideas folks? Has any one else come across something like this? |

Don't know if this from the 1861 census could be a clue, I think others that know more would probably say the "in-law" actually means stepchild. |
