i am writing to my second cousin as his his of the family is some what of an enigma.

i want to include the relevant section of my family tree showing his relationship to me or at least to show that our parents were cousins.

i have ftm but i cant seem to find anything on their list of charts etc that fits the bill. i dont want to show all the many "twigs" they are too numerous and it would probably just complicate matters.

Help please

I think a Descendant chart on ftm may suit you. If you do it from the common ancestor and then chose the number of generations to show. You can even chose which people to include.

On some earlier versions of ftm you can highlight the conncection to you and your cousin, I don't think you can do this on the later ones

Have a look and have a play about, often by just messing around with charts/reports you'll make it work for your needs, something I am always doing

I agree with Patricia, a descendant chart is definitely what you need. You can even export it as a pdf and send it via email that way if he does not have the relevant software he can still view it.
