Exactly what does this mean, I found it in the Relationship part, so instead of Head or Widow it says Nurse Child, This particular Child 2yrs was not from the area the couple looking after him even though they have same surname |

Its what we call a foster child. Sometimes was an illigitimate child and mum paid for the child to be looked after as she probably needed to work in live in employment |

A similar phrase is "took to rear" which happened to my mother's halfbrother when his mother died in childbirth. |
