I presume that you mean the male Christian name Norris.

I only ever knew one person who had that name and most people seemed to address him as Norri.

Where was he on the 1901 census? I cannot spot him using Ancestry. Can you either post the census or its source citation number.

Do you know when his parents married? Could he have been born before then?
