I have just been looking at an 1861 Scottish census, and note that in the household there is a 7 day old girl. |

Does she have the same surname? maybe she is a child of a family member who is being looked after by them.Are you looking at the actual page on Scotlands People?? |

sounds like an Ancestry guesswork. I think you can view the actual census pages on Scotlands People .I had a look this morning but no credits to follow up. |

If it's Ancestry, I would guess some mistranscription, like maybe it's the housekeepers daughter. |
