Researching:
My avatar is that of my Dad and shipmates, taken onboard HMS Blanche in 1938, place unknown From left to right, my Dad,Sidney Mellor and Sidney Bateman.

Ancestry has England & Wales, National Probate Calendar, 1861-1941, with some gaps. With the details from that, you can order a Will. People will do a look up for you if you don't have access.

Prior to then, you can search the National Archive and may strike lucky.
After then, you need to know place and date of death and write to the Probate office, or visit in person to search. Someone I've been in contact with said that the more recent ones are on film, but every time he has been to the London office, the Reader hasn't been working.

If there is no Will or Administration which you've ordered by post, you don't get a refund. (currently £5)
