Hello all
Just found out that my 3xggf died in 1886. His death cert says ... died from shock to the system as a result of an accident. Coroners Inquest held 13.07.1886
Place of death - South Molton, Devon. Is there a way to find the coroners report as I am really curios.

Forgive me if I don't reply immediately but I've been having comp. trouble recently.

Devon Family History Society

(the main office is in Exeter and South Molton would come under the North Devon Records Office in Barnstaple).

In the 19th century newspapers look out for
"Trewman's Exeter Flying Post or Plymouth and Cornish Advertiser".

The local newspaper from that time period was the "South Molton Gazette". I not sure who holds copies of this, you could try Devon Libraries http://www.devon.gov.uk/libraries or the South Molton Museum http://www.southmoltonmuseum.org/ .

Hi all, Thanks for the replies. Sorry I haven't got back sooner but things have been a bit crazy this month.
I'll check out your suggestions and see how I get on...such a lot to now think about.

Jonesey - yes I remember checking out your newspapers thread ages ago and found it helpful. Forgot all about that option!
