Passport applications does anyone?

Does anyone have access to passport applications please? A very kind lady on here offered her services once before so was wondering if anyone else could help me. I'm looking for a William H Baker in 1879

it doesnt show much other than a name against the date the application was made .No family/personal details are given

There is a Baker W June 28th 1879 that seems to be the only one, trawled through all the year records

I would not hold out too much hope as passports as we know them did not come into force until after WW1. Prior to that they were only issued in special cases, such as to diplomats.

Thanks very much for your comments I fully understand where your coming from. But as I knew his parents had applied for passports in 1853 as his father also worked in India and I have their passport application dates and number's.

But thank you all the same for your thoughts and help.
