My great grandfather Thomas Stevens was born in Southampton, parents Thomas Stevens born West Meon 1817 and Emma Thorn. Thomas was married to Annie Jane Eames and had the following children Henry Stevens, Edith Annie, Florence, Ethel. Thomas was a steward/purser on board the liners sailing from Southampton and somewhere between 1891/1901 family stories say he disappeared overboard on one of his sailings, probably working for Royal Mail Lines. I have been unable to find any evidence of this, can anyone help, please. Enid |
