Hi - could someone tell me how I search someone who has been adopted? My husband's grandad was Alfred, born 2 Sept 1903. His adopted surname was Cook, and we think his original surname may have been Higgins. He died in Newham in 1974. We think he married Jessie Sarah Cordelia Andrews on 26 Dec 1926. Any advice on how we can trace further back to Alfred's biological parents would be appreciated. |

We've been given the name Jessie Andrews from my husband's mum - he married under the name Alfred Cook, as far as I'm aware. I think I'll request my husband's dad's birth cert (he died 24 years ago) and will have a look at the mother's details. |
