Inquests - National Archives vs Newspaper - advice

Just seen your message re date of death, as it was reasonably recent even if hasn't been destroyed there may be a closure on it as I said best get in touch with the records office |

Your best bet is to ask at the records office in the area he died but as previously said it is very rare for any to be still surving, I count myself very lucky to have found my grt grandfathers coroners report from 1898 but another one for another relative in 1915 has been destroyed so its a case of "pot luck" |

I have a newpaper cutting of my grandfather's inquest. It's a very short piece. Someone on this site found their ancestors inquest on at the National Archives. Can anyone tell me if there would be more detail in the offical inquest document rather than that in the newpaper cutting. And if so how can I obtain a copy as I've tried before and only managed the newspaper cutting. |
