	According to the service record He was a Baker, having served an apprenticeship Thomas R Branson emlisted 24 - 8 -14 was attested to the Buffs 24 - 8- 14 Private Service No 10247 Discharged for misconduct 30 - 10 -14 Character Indifferent on the front sheet . he says that he had previously been in the Buffs, and was discharged as "medically unfit" in 1912 NOK Mother Miltilda Address Not Known Brother James Dorset Regiment Brother Harry Address Not known I wonder if that is why he changed his name to Phenton .......... so that he could re-join the army?????????????? But there will be no proof unless Phenton's records have survived. it then looks as though he married Charlotte as Phenton, and then abandoned her .................. could ther epossibly have been a divorce? Maybe that death certificate could provide an answer sylvia

	well a family tree on ancestry has a lot of detail onThomas R Branson and Caroline .... including a photo of Thomas R birth certificate Born August 1 1884 Parents:- James Branson and Matilda Double and he died Dec 1 1959, Sibthorpe Rd, London BUT then when I searched for Thomas Phenton ........ that same tree shows up in the index as:- Branson and Archer Public Member Tree 12 attached records, 12 sources photos Thomas Robert Branson [Thomas Robert Phenton] Birth: August 1, 1884 (1 Aug 1884) - Colchester, Essex, England Death: Dec 1, 1959 (1 Dec 1959) - London, England Spouse: Caroline Archer F: James Branson M: Matilda Double Under Facts and Sources Thomas Robert Phenton is added as an Alternative Name ........... no other information. No Thomas R Phenton show up on censuses sylvia

	hi satnav it should be yewman they wrote in down wrong i have found that one but cant find a birth or death for him or any other record apart for a record of a medal but he had a child with caroline archer and she is using the married name phenton and latter was married to thomas branson and had two children but using maiden name caroline archer

	i have the birth cert for alice with father thomas phenton mother caroline phenton formley caroline archer but have found thomas married to charllote a few years before so we are a bit confused

	trying to track a thomas phenton have him married to charlotte yewman 1917 and a army record for a medal but have him also as the father of alice phenton mothers maiden name archer in around 1923 no record of his birth or marraige to archer or his death
