Yes Paula as you say maybe time to try going forward...... as with this thread and your previous ones all the info everyone finds for you is purely speculation as you can neither rule out or confirm anything.

The 1911 family I posted ...I was aware that the marriage cert said father Edward Watson, but it was more his occupation that drew me...felt someone who had worked in Catering may have gone on to be a Steward on a Ship? {similar line of work} and they lived in the same area as Arthurs marriage in 1922........all clutching at straws really.

As for working forward...do you have all Arthurs childrens names? of course some of them may still be alive. I take it this isn`t your direct line or you would know about them, so how did you arrive at the 1922 marriage being the man in your tree?

You say the family are still at the brides family address in 1927....who exactly is showing on that electoral role entry....as under 18s or should it be 21s? won`t be showing.

Just been looking at your old threads on this Paula..

.See there were 2 children Edward Ernest born 1922 { looks like it was a bit of a shotgun wedding then!!} and Arthur born 1923...

What was louisas fathers name and occupation from the marriage cert? ...just wondering if i found her in 1911 it might give us a clue?

Thanks Nicky for all your work.

Yes the 1911 census for Louisa is correct

Ernest and Arthur Jnr are the sons of Arthur Snr.

Ernest is now unforunately my late father in law. He never knew his father as he left the family - although never divorced this is why the info I have is very sparse.

According to his son Arthur Jnr the pensions office got in touch with Louisa to see about paying Arthur Snrs pension. Hence my question re pensions.

I think this may be a case of not knowing enough to form any correct connectiions.

Well if the Pensions Office got in touch about paying his estranged wife his pension then presumably he wasn`t in New Zealand?..........

and presumably that was back in the 1960`s when Arthur would have reached Pensionable age? 65?....so you know he must have been alive then.

Are you in contact with any of louisas family ? siblings or their children? would they be able to shed more light on her elusive husband??

Would it be worth emailing the Pensions office? they may have an Archives of records and your husband as direct descendant may be intitled to the information.

nothing to lose by trying!!

Maybe a good place to start...

Hi Nicky

Spoke to the Pension Tracing and they have given me another phone number to contact for the Letter Forwarding Service.

Will find out about a pension being paid from NZ when I contact them as the Pension Tracing said that his Pension would have been paid if he was living in NZ.

I am putting the contact details on a new thread so perhaps may be of use to others. Whether it will be any use to myself I don't know as we are talking a few years back now. But worth a try

Many thanks
