Looking at newspaper death notices for my Great Grandfather, his has 'friends and South African War Veterans please meet at cemetery' This was in 1953 and Ggrandfather was aged 85 and living in Wallsend on Tyne. Does anyone know if there is any assocation or the like covering that area for the Boer War? During the period of the Boer War he would have been living in Alnwick, Northumberland. |
