Could someone please have a look at the WW1 national roll for John/Jack Ashley born 1899/1900 in Congleton/Buglawton Cheshire . My mum told me last night he was shot and gassed during WW1 but i havent been able to find him on the NA site. |

Entries on the National Roll, a private publication, had to be paid for and so the number of entries is limited. Apart from that the project ended when only a few of the larger cities had been covered. It is available to view on certain sites online for a small fee but I think the Manchester entries may be available without charge. That's my recollection but best google to find out more. |

Thanks for the help. I already knew about Walter, my cousin went with my Aunt to see the memorial in france a couple of years ago. I'll just have to wait until the info is available online, i have no idea on which regiment he was with or where he served. |
