thank you, I have made a note, and have been taking a look at the census record, never thought to search under the name comber....I suppose I will have to wait for my grandparents marriage certificate to come, I have a feeling that its still going to be difficult to pinpoint what family he will belong to as I have no idea where he was born. I also know that I will only get a name and profession of his father at time of marriage.

Thanks again Nicola

Thanks SatNav, it looks like that could be him, assuming of course that he is Charles Edward and not Edward C, this one deffinately matches up with the Charles Edward born 1901 that I found.

Hi guys, thanks for that will make a note of what you put.

Jonesey, I have no idea I think that its possible that he died in chatham aged 61, of which I think has been mistranscribed as there are no births around 1904. I know that he married my Grandmother in Milton September quarter 1928. I have no other information on him before his marriage apart from what I have given.

Thanks for your help Nicola

I have a family that I need to find on the 1911 census I can't go any further eitherway till I find them, If someone would be able to find them it would be much appreciated.

My granfathers name is Edward C Coomber born c1901 but is possible that he could of been born later than that, I have a feeling that I have his birth but is transcribed Charles Edward Coomber born c1901 Maidstone. The other Edward Coomber was born c1901 in malling, but have found a death for that person who died a few months after birth, so have discounted that one. To be honest am just assuming that he was born in that area because I have found a marriage for him and my grandmother, of which I am going to get the certificate.

Just with a couple of changes,

I have just got the marriage certificate of my Grandfather Edward Charles Coomber who married my Grandmother in 1928. It says that his age is 24 (so Born 1904 not 1901 as first thought) his fathers name is also Edward Charles Coomber, they were living in Sittingbourne at the time.

I still can't find him on the 1911 census, I have tried looking on Ancestry but as they haven't got a proper search facility I keep drawing a blank. There was one possibility of a family living at 2 Goodnestone Road Edward Charles 29, Florence Isobell 27, Clara Emma Victoria 3 and Hardy Flower??? 2 but not my Grandfather who should of been there so am assuming this is not them. If anyone can help it will be much appreciated thanks Nicola x
