You won't be able to see actual birth marriage or death certificates, only copies of the index. The actual certs can only be purchased from the GRO or the Register Office were the event was registered. |

Have a read of their Research Guides to Merchant Navy records which you'll find on their website. From those you should be able to work out what they have for the relevant period. |
