The GRO normally index a widow under her married surname, which is usually the name she commonly uses. |

I've got one re-married under her maiden name, one re-married under her married name and another who just got re-married without beimg widowed or divorced. Just a subtle alteration of both parties middle names sufficed. |

I'd agree with satnav - usually they marry under their previous married name ... however, there are bound to be exceptions to this so check under both names if you can't find her. |

When a widow remarries could someone please tell me whether her original name ie birth name or her previous married name appears on the certificate? |
