Hi Georgygirl,

Have you tried all varients of his surname spelling and those that sound like it?
Think about accents and how a surname may be spelt with different accents. I found my family under the following varients Coin / Koyne/ Coyne/ Kind and Roind. And yes they are the same family.

You could give us the details and see if any on here can help.

Regards, Lou

PLEASE............has anyone any suggestions-
My Gt Gt Grandad is on the 1861 census as being born in c1828 in Bewdley Worcs, this is the first census he appears in, married with three children (i can track him forward from there)
Now-this where the fun starts,
There is no record of him being born in Bewdley, i have had two professional geneologists trying to find him with no luck.
There are six variations of his surname, and i dont know if he was registered with any one of these variants (thats if he was registered at all).
I think i know his fathers/ mothers christian name, but not her maiden name, she was born in Kidderminster.
If i go to the archives-i'm looking for someone who-
I dont know where he was born
I dont know where/when he was married-maybe Kidderminster?
Have tried Ancestry/ G/U/Family search/rootsweb.
Has anyone any idea of another free site that would go back that far that could give me the missing link i need to trace his family.
I would be eternally grateful of any suggestions and could give full details if required.
Thank you
Jean
