It is a shame that the family search records are not as complete as the baptism and marriage records from the London Metropilitan Archive. |

Someone was writing in Your Family Tree Magazine complaining that the new IGI site was full of errors that weren't there previously. |

Thanks for your suggestions mngy and ozi. Richard thank you also for taking such time. I had noted the other four and the marriage that you refer to to, but thought it may be a bit far. I hadn't seen the other brother and not quite not sure what you mean by the new site? Guess the only way to solve this is making a trip to the archives, but they're some 100 miles from me. regards Anthony |

I would say that it's as Ozi stated above. Probably the transcriber couldn't decide if Cornelius was William's middle name or if it was the family surname. There are several other records on the old IGI that would appear to be from the same family (all have parents Richard & Mary, no surname given): |

Normally, very low - but since they've omitted it, it might really be missing. The transcribers are also instructed to leave blank any indecipherable stuff, so that's quite a possibility here. Maybe the bishop's transcripts might clear it up. |

Having been given excellent advice yesterday regarding searches on the LDS site's Record Pilot search I played around with this site and found what may have been an ancestor in William Cornelius bpt at Hougham Kent in 1791. Albeit there is a batch number the record only gives the parents as having been Richard and Mary. What's the likelihood of the PR only having the given names of the parents as well?? |
