We have just bought a new computer and unlike our old one it does not allow me to paste any website links from the GR message boards that maybe of possible interest.

I can copy ok however it will not paste on the http://www. toolbar...if that makes sense ??

I would appreciate any help.

Many thanks

Linda

No reason why it shouldn't work just because you have a new 'puter

Can you copy and paste to and from other documents? If not the clipboard may be corrupted, or disabled.

To check to see that the Clipboard service is enabled. go to START , RUN, Type Services.msc. Look for clipboard and make sure its automatic, and enabled, and started.

If this doesn't work then there may be another application which is locking the clipboard.

Some suggestions on here

or to save typing, if copy and paste isn't working, here is the tiny version of the same url

PP, that doesn't solve the original problem of not being able to copy urls to her browser.

Many thanks IGP...I can c&p everything else with no problem.

I am computer illiterate, but getting there slowly, so I have no idea where the clipboard service is however I now know I am talking about urls and browser bar.

I will check on the links you have kindly given me and see if they help.

Again my thanks.

Thanks PP.

Sorry, but I'm afraid that the problem is a bit technical and it doesn't look like there is a simple 'click button here' fix.

"Services" are all the windows programs that run in the background, usually without you being aware they even exist. They are fundamental to making your computer work.
