Castles or Manors 1906 Ayreshire Kilmarnock

Would anybody out there have any knowlege of this subject.A section of it was called Bowhouse Farm ?Hurlbord?Iwould be most grateful for any help.thank you. Jan. |

If you google Bowhouse farm Kilmarnock - it's still there, and looks like a big farm in it's own right. |

maggiewinchester,Thank you for your help. i tried to google the website that you gave but it did not work.Idid find Bowhouse farm.I am trying to find who was the Lord of a manor or large farm in that area in 1907-1912.Did people inherit the land or rent or buy it?It is different in Australia.Thanks again Jan. |

Thanks for that mate.Idid google just Bowhouse farm and it came up wiyh a list of tennants that had occupied the farm or had inherited it from the 1400s.But i thought that Bowhouse farm was part of a bigger Estate and it was owned by a Lord somebody,some aristocrat bigwig.My grand mother worked on that farm as a housekeeper or maid to these people.She was only 15 16yrs old ,yr very q uite shy and the master had his way with her(as they say) and boom a baby!! i was curious as to who it might have been she would never talk about it .it was a secret a shame in those days Janice |
