Thank you Chris, Jan and Maureen for your replies interesting to say the least. Thank you especially Maureen as that definately looks like my Jinney/Jane/Jennie Sparkes, although I can't see her future husband on the National Archive register that you kindly found. His name was Thomas M Massey and I understand that he went to war after marriage in 1912 never to return, presumed dead! Perhaps from the 1911 info they had indeed not yet met! Thank you again |

My grandmother was working in a large household in 1911. Her name was written very poorly, so surname transcribed as Tigge instead of Legge! (many thanks to the person on here who found her for me). |

Even if the person was working in a stately home in 1911 then they should be listed. |

Thank you I am certain of the marriage, although she is down as her nickname Jinney instead of Jane and surname spelled slightly differently but definately her. I may just search for parents though I think I had done that but will try again just in case! |

They could also have just been left off. |

It could be a bad mis-transcription. Have you tried searching by first/surname only? Just checking - are you certain about when she married? |

Yes I have been trying on free 1911 look ups too with variants the closest I got to was her married surname but she didn't get married until 1912 and the date of birth was out by a couple of years too. |
