Eliza Goforth, born 1853 Cape Town, South Africa.
Married in 1871 Thomas Moore. jfm quarter
1871 census I found Eliza Moore, "unmarried" living in the Kent Council Lunatic Asylum, and she was born in Cape Town...
Is this her, even though she is listed as unmarried, or just a co-incidence with both being born in Cape Town??
Thoughts please

1871 Census
She's a servant
Name: Eliza Moore Age: 19 Estimated birth year: abt 1852 Relation: Servant <<<<<< Gender: Female Where born: Cape of Good Hope Civil parish: Maidstone Ecclesiastical parish: St Peter County/Island: Kent Country: England Registration district: Maidstone Sub-registration district: West Maidstone ED, institution, or vessel: Kent County Lunatic Asylum
Sarah Bates 21 Eliza Moore 19 Attendant . . . .
all the attendants say they are unmarried or widowed
so either this is the wrong Eliza Moore, or she is lying
The census was taken on the night if 2nd April 1871, and I suppose it is also possible that she ahd only just married Thomas ...... and whoever filled in the census did not know that.
You also have to ask what was she doing in Kent when they were married in Essex, and her family was living in Essex in 1861
The other 1871 Census that GB found with Eliza Simonds staying with her mother Louisa Goforth, widow, Laundrees, is more likely to be the Eliza that you are looking for!
so it seems that she married James Simons
