I like a bit of luck too! My husband has a couple of ancestors who are a real rarity i think - there birthplace is recorded in 1841. |

That's a close one Jan. I've a few ancestors that I've wished were born/remarried just a few years or even months younger. I was lucky with a remarriage that gave those details too so it's not just siblings details that are useful. |

Couldn't agree more - it really pays to search "sideways". I hve a will by an uncle which mentions my direct ancestor, and in so doing has sorted out who married who! We also were lucky that the youngest sibling of my husband's ancestor was born 1838 - phew!. |

is tracing the lines of my ancestor's siblings. It's helped me numerous times, I have sometimes bought birth or marriage certificates of siblings which revealed their father's name & on birth certs -mother's maiden names when I couldn't get it from my ancestor as they were born or married before civil registration. |
