Probably desperate to find work! I have folks moving from the West Country to the far North ,from tin-mines to coal-mines(and some straight from the farm). We aren't the only ones to be living in difficult times,let's face it.

i have an appointment to see the parish register on thursday so hopefully it will give me some details on william and alice's marriage i.e. parents. thanks for all you help it really is appreciated cheers linda

There's a place called Milton Bryan 2.4 miles frpm Woburn so it looks as if it could be him.

hi christine that is defo a possibility as when i looked up info on Woburn Bedfordshire it says it is situated 5 miles south east of MIlton Keynes. !!! also on genuki it says woburn is in the parish of Manshead. so not sure where Manshead is. thanks for taking the time to look linda x
