Very unusual, I would say. On the other hand, gravestones for married women usually give their maiden surname, not their married name. |

Hi - does anyone know if it was common for men to take on their spouses surnames at marriage ?? I'm expcially keen on knowing if this happened in Scotland, as i''m having trouble locating the birth of a relative and this may help |
