I have found a reference to a will dated 1840 in Yorkshire, on FMP. Please can someone tell me how I order the will? Where do I order it, and how easy is the process? Is it done online, by post, or, as I live in Yorkshire would it be easier to apply in person? Pre 1858 wills are a new experience for me. |

Thanks for your help, K and Jonesey. Most appreciated. I'm quite excited as it's the will of my 3 x ggrandfather and could help me with tracing his children. |

wills proved before 1858 were usually proved at the local ecclesiastical court eg Richmond which covers parts of Yorkshire and those wills I think can be read in Leeds. |
